ING Invoice Manager gives the self-employed and SMEs the edge in electronic invoicing
Brussels - As of 1 January 2026, Belgian companies subject to VAT will be legally required to invoice each other electronically. ING Belgium isn’t waiting until then though, and with the ING Invoice Manager in anticipation of this new requirement – which will take effect across Europe in 2030 – we are working with Belgian invoicing expert Billit. ING Invoice Manager is a solution that enables self-employed people and SMEs to immediately comply with the new legislation. At the same time, it facilitates cooperation between entrepreneurs and their accountants.
An email with a PDF file attached will not meet the new legal requirements for digital invoicing. This is where ING Invoice Manager offers the solution. No need for a separate programme and login, our new online tool is integrated in the ING Business’Bank portal, where the basic version can be activated free of charge. Small business owners get a quick and simple overview of their entire administration, from drawing up quotations, to sending and receiving invoices, to the real-time follow-up of payments. Moreover, a seamless connection with most accounting software makes collaboration with accountants extremely easy.
Peter Göbel, Head of Business Banking at ING Belgium: ‘With ING Invoice Manager, we are the first bank in Belgium to fully integrate the unique possibilities of efficient and digital invoicing management in a banking environment. Speed, ease of use and security are paramount. In this way, the self-employed, SMEs and their accountants can meet the new Belgian legislation without any deadline stress.’
Tom Van Gaever, founder of Billit: 'We are particularly proud that ING has chosen us as their partner. This is a new step in the major growth that we are currently experiencing. For us, it is proof that the people and resources we have put into the development of our platform for almost a decade has paid off. We have invested heavily in security and compliance, which has resulted in us gaining a banking licence. We are now reaping the benefits.’
