ING confirms early departure Eric Boyer de la Giroday as Chairman of the Executive Board of ING Belgium

Eric Boyer de la Giroday will step down, for personal reasons, as Chairman of the Executive Board and Director of ING Belgium at the end of the General Assembly at the end of April.

"I now turn the page on my long tenure with ING Belgium and will remember the many beautiful and warm moments. The bank has always been my second home where I have had the honour and pleasure to work with highly motivated staff. With the many challenges our institution has faced, and is still facing, things were not always easy. But we stood united to tackle the hurdles. I am grateful to all that helped and allowed me to grow my passion as a banker and now close the door of the bank that will remain close to my heart," says Eric Boyer, retiring chairman of the Executive Board at ING Belgium.

Eric Boyer started his career at Citibank to join in 1984 Banque Bruxelles Lambert, the Belgian bank which was acquired by ING in 1998. In 1999, the Executive Board of ING Belgium welcomed Boyer as a member. In 2011 he was elected Chairman.

I will miss him, not only for his sharp analyzes but also for his human values ​​and our wonderful cooperation in recent years" says Erik Van Den Eynden, CEO of ING Belgium.

Eric Boyer will remain in office until the next Annual General Meeting to be held on 22 April 2020. More information about his successor will be communicated later.
