ING Belgium reshapes daily banking with four lifestyle‑based Packs offering more value for money
A smarter subscription‑based way of banking designed to deliver clearer choices
ING Belgium is reshaping how Belgians bank with the launch of four new lifestyle-based Packs that combine payments, cards, protection and relevant benefits into one transparent monthly price. This launch reflects changing banking expectations with a stronger focus on simplicity, clearer choice and value for money. Clients remain fully in control: they can choose the Pack that fits their needs today and move easily between Packs as their needs evolve.
Market research conducted by ING shows that people increasingly struggle to keep track of what they pay for daily banking once additional products and add‑ons come into play. Cards, insurance products and assistance services are often taken separately, even though they are used together in everyday life. As a result, costs can become scattered and many people don’t have a clear view of their total monthly price.
At the same time, people today expect more from their bank. They want easy, reliable and secure daily banking for everyday payments, combined with services that fit seamlessly into their lives and deliver clear value for money. Simplicity, transparency and relevance have become essential expectations in how people manage their finances.
Clear choices with a strong value proposition
That is why ING is introducing a new way of banking with four lifestyle‑based Packs. Instead of managing separate products and scattered add‑ons, clients choose one clear Pack that brings together commonly used services, from payment cards to protection, assistance and relevant benefits, in a single monthly price1. Clients avoid paying for multiple elements separately.
“Our clients want banking that feels simple and digital, but also reassuring when it matters. With these Packs, we bring everyday banking together with protection, assistance and benefits that match real‑life needs, delivering more value for money. We serve 3 million clients and see large volumes of interactions every day, through our app, via chat, by phone and in our branches, which means we continuously hear and see what they need. That daily contact doesn’t just give us opinions, it gives us clear patterns and real evidence. Clients get the digital ease they expect today, backed by the strength, security and human support of a trusted bank like ING,” says Cédric Lebegge, Head of Private Individuals at ING Belgium.
4 packs tailored to real-life needs
Based on real client needs, the four Packs give clients clear choices while staying fully in control to choose and switch Packs at any time as their needs evolve. Each Pack builds on the previous one, keeping the same daily banking foundation while gradually adding services and benefits.
Across all Packs, ING remains available to every client. Whatever Pack a client chooses, they can rely on ING’s personal approach and access to human advice and support when they need it.
1. ING Go: essential daily banking
ING Go includes the core services for day-to-day banking: a current account, a debit card, standard payments and transfers in the euro area, 36 ATM withdrawals per year, and the option of one additional account holder. It is a complete entry option for clients who do not need additional services.
2. ING More: everyday banking expanded with services for daily life
ING More builds on ING Go: it includes everything in ING Go and adds two debit cards and unlimited ATM withdrawals in the euro area, plus a Visa Classic credit card, purchase and delivery protection, event cancellation, travel‑related assistance and Amazon Prime².
It also includes identity protection features, such as dark‑web monitoring and support in case of identity theft, on top of ING’s standard security measures that apply to all clients. These services are included directly in the Pack rather than offered as separate add‑ons.
3. ING Extra: broader protection for families and international lifestyles
ING Extra builds on ING More and adds broader travel and international protection. It includes a Visa Platinum credit card, worldwide ATM withdrawals and no ING foreign exchange fee on credit card payments abroad. Protection is expanded with extended purchase insurance, medical travel assistance, luggage protection, device insurance, and travel cancellation and disruption cover.
This is aimed at clients who travel regularly or live internationally and therefore face a higher likelihood of travel‑related issues, for example a cancelled trip, lost luggage, the need for medical assistance abroad, or a damaged phone or laptop while travelling.
4. ING Max: for clients who value maximum comfort and peace of mind
ING Max builds on ING Extra and adds ING’s most extensive level of protection, travel cover and premium services, while remaining open to every retail client. It includes a Visa Infinite credit card, abroad ATM withdrawals and no ING foreign exchange fee on credit card payments abroad. Protection is extended with premium travel and medical assistance, higher travel cancellation limits, extended device insurance, car rental excess cover and winter sports coverage.
Beyond payments and insurance, it includes services that are typically offered through separate products or more exclusive arrangements: the Visa Infinite Loyalty Platform (offers and privileges), airport lounge access and 24/7 concierge services, all included within the Pack.
A seamless transition
As of 21 May, ING’s new Packs are available to everyone.
For existing clients, the transition is designed to be smooth and reassuring. Day‑to‑day banking remains unchanged: account numbers, debit cards, standing orders and direct debits continue as before. As part of the migration, ING Do Basic accounts will be automatically aligned with ING Go, and ING Do More accounts with ING More. These Packs most closely reflect the services customers already use, but in an optimized structure.
There is no immediate price change for clients who remain in their proposed Pack: they continue to pay their current fee until 1 August, giving them time to explore what is included and compare options. Clients can switch Packs at any moment via the ING app, Home’Bank or in a branch. When they switch, the new price applies immediately. At no point are accounts automatically moved to broader Packs such as ING Extra or ING Max, these are activated only when clients explicitly choose them.
The roll‑out is designed to give customers clarity without disruption: time to explore, freedom to choose, and full control of their banking at every step.
