BrusSELS, 27 janUARY 2015
ING Belgium is proud to be one of the partners of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. It has therefore decided to renew its support for three more years (2014-2016) and to lend works of its contemporary art collection to the Music Chapel for a long period.
The vocation of this prestigious institution in educating young people and encouraging them to give the best of themselves so that their talent blossoms, is echoed in different ING Belgium initiatives for benefiting young people, both in the charitable domain and in the areas of art and sport.
In partnership with UNICEF, ING Belgium participates in the international programme ING Chances for Children, which has already enabled thousands of marginalized children across the world to go to school. In 2005, the bank also set up the Philanthropic Fund ING in Belgium within the King Baudouin Foundation, whose work is particularly aimed at reintegrating young people in danger of being excluded from society. Furthermore, ING Belgium employees take part in numerous charitable and social initiatives such as the Ecole des devoirs, the Solidarity Award and training for women going into business in developing countries.
In the artistic and cultural domain, ING Belgium supports emerging talent through the Young Belgian Art Prize and its partnership with Art Brussels (international fair of contemporary art). Moreover, ING wants to connect its art collection with its employees, with architecture, but also with life and with the public. Therefore, the Music Chapel will get the loan of two works of art ING recently acquired of the artist Ann Veronica Jannsens. Untitled (Pink), 2010 and Bright green, 2010-2013 illustrate the intention of the artist to force the edges of perception to extremes, giving the works a special resonance in the context of the Music Chapel.
Finally, ING Belgium is also the official partner of the Red Devils, who are especially popular with the public. The bank also contributes to training referees, whose values – fairness, the ability to take decisions, courage, and respect for the rules – are perfectly suited to those of ING.
Just like the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and its other partners, we embody and encourage essential values such as excellence and quality. We hope wholeheartedly that this renewed partnership will allow many young virtuosos to take a step forward and showcase their talent on an international level.
