ING Belgium introduces Recurring ETFs as a low threshold alternative to start investing

Automated investing designed to reduce complexity and time commitment

ING Belgium is launching Recurring ETF plans, an automated way to invest regularly in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). The initiative is aimed at people who are interested in investing but are discouraged by complexity and the time it is perceived to require.

Investing still seen as too complex and time‑consuming

Research conducted for ING Belgium shows that complexity remains a key barrier to investing. 69% of Belgians say investing is too complex and requires knowledge they do not have, while 68% believe it demands constant market monitoring and time commitment.

“These perceptions explain why many people hesitate to start investing,” says David Gershevich, Tribe Lead Investments at ING. “With Recurring ETFs, we deliberately remove those barriers by offering a simple, automated way to invest, without complexity or continuous follow‑up.”

Recurring ETFs: automated and disciplined investing

Recurring ETF plans allow customers to invest a fixed amount at regular intervals in ETFs, without having to actively manage their investments or try to time markets. The approach is designed to bring structure and simplicity to investing and to fit into everyday financial routines.

ING Belgium positions Recurring ETFs as a practical solution for people who want a clear and disciplined way to invest, without the operational burden often associated with investing.

“We see very clearly what is happening in our customers’ lives, and that is exactly why ING Belgium is launching Recurring ETF plans today,” says David Gershevich, Tribe Lead Investments at ING. “By focusing on simplicity, trust and accessibility, we are democratizing investing and becoming the go-to bank for anyone who wants to start, without fear, without complexity.”
