Start-up Madbugs receives advice from top business leader
Advising entrepreneurs is deeply rooted in the DNA of ING Belgium. In order to go beyond just offering traditional advice regarding financial management and risk management, ING Belgium gave five Belgian entrepreneurs the chance to win a meeting with a top manager. Today, Aline Mujawase and Andy Delcourt of Madbugs meet the CEO of Lampiris, Bruno Venanzi.
Candidates had until 31 December to tell ING Belgium which top manager they would like to meet and why. The managers themselves then had the task of choosing a winner from amongst the various candidates. The winners and managers will meet each other during March for an interesting discussion and advice about doing business, taking risks and making decisions.
Erik Vanden Eynden, Head of Midcorporates & Institutionals, explains why this competition is so important for ING Belgium: "We strongly believe that entrepreneurs need to surround themselves with people who can think together with them, but not necessarily the same as them, people who empower them to stay a step ahead in life and in business. It is only in this way that one can advance in a constructive fashion and weigh up concepts against current market conditions. Whether it’s a banker, a colleague or in this case a successful fellow businessman: this type of interaction is extremely important in determining the feasibility and credibility of a concept.”
Madbugs’ Aline Mujawase and Andy Delcourt are scheduled to meet Lampiris’ Bruno Venanzi today. Madbugs is a young start-up which organises road trips in which adventure and passion are the central feature. The road trips mostly take place in coloured vehicles which radiate fun and make contact with the local population much easier. Madbugs is aimed at people who want to escape from the everyday grind and (re)discover life’s core values.
Aline is very enthusiastic about the meeting: “It’s fantastic to have the chance to meet an experienced CEO at a time when I am busy developing my own brand. The meeting therefore comes at just the right moment. I am very curious to hear what Bruno Venanzi has to say about the way in which one can develop a 100% local and Belgian company in this day and age.”
