Emmanuel Verhoosel to leave ING Belgium

Emmanuel Verhoosel, Head of Wholesale Banking for Belgium and Luxembourg and member of the Executive Committee of ING in Belgium, has decided to leave ING to pursue his career outside of the company. He will step down from his current position as of July 1 2018 but will continue to work in a consultancy capacity on strategic projects until August 31 2018.

Emmanuel began his career within ING 10 years ago as Head of Real Estate Finance for America and Western Europe, based in London where he successfully lead the franchise through the financial crisis. In 2012 he was appointed Head of Wholesale Banking for Continental Western Europe where he launched with determination a successful client expansion programme across the region. Since 2014, he was Head of Wholesale Banking for Belgium and Luxembourg and was one of the members of the Executive Committee of ING in Belgium.

Following Emmanuel’s departure, Erik Van Den Eynden will take on ad interim responsibility for Wholesale Banking in BeLux in addition to his current role as CEO of ING Belgium. Philippe Wallez, who is currently head of Retail and Private Banking ING Belgium, will also assume ad interim responsibility for the MidCorporates activities in BeLux.

“Emmanuel invested his energy in developing the Wholesale and MidCorporates franchises. I would like to thank him for his important contribution and determination in improving the client experience and fostering personal relationship. Wishing him all the best with his future projects. His experience and sector knowledge was highly appreciated,” expresses Erik Van Den Eynden, CEO of ING Belgium.
